Compound Bows by Jennings Archery

from: Maxx Sports Guides

Jennings Archery is known for its innovative designs and product performance, a company founded by an innovator in bow design named Tom Jennings. Jennings was the technical editor of The Archer’s Magazine. He initially created recurve bows, but after doing a review about Holless Allen bows, he decided to cease production of recurve bows and focus on building and innovating compound bows.

A recurve bow has recurves on the upper and lower limbs of the bow and a distinguishable design mainly due to the curves on each tip of the bow.

A compound bow is one that uses pulleys or cams which are part of a levering system. The limbs are much stiffer than other types of bows, such as longbow and recurve bow. Aside from the string, a cable is attached to the pulley and limbs. This type are little effected by changes in humidity and temperature and provides superior velocity and precision in target shooting compared to other bows.

A compound bow is considered, in the U.S., the dominant type of bow. The Holles Allen bow, developed by Holles Wilbur Allen in 1967, was the first development of modern patented compound bow to become popular. At that time, Tom Jennings wrote a review about this bow. After the review of the compound bow, he altered the name of his company to Jennings Compound Bow.

The compound bow is a type of bow that continually exists in their product line. Various designs of this bow were innovated by Tom Jennings. Jennings bows are appreciated for their sleek, strength and modern designs.

One of the pride lines of Jennings Archery products is the CK bow. This model of compound bows features Carbon Kinetic chamber limbs. Integrated with a patented carbon fiber design, the CK bow produces greater energy when target shooting. Regarded for its durability and better performance, the CK bows by Jennings Archery are must-haves to those who are looking for an engineered design in limbs that will produce outstanding performance.

In addtion to CK bows, other models of compound bows are produced by Jennings Archery including Strike and Reliant, CK 3.4 R and CK 3.1 R. The latest in CK bow technology are CK 3.5 and 4.0 bows.
