Aikido is one of the oldest form of martial arts.
Founded by Morihei Ueshiba, aikido came about through the studies of many
different kinds of traditional martial arts. In fact, it's often perceived
as a form of exercise or a dance because of some of its forms
and also viewed by some as a form of martial mesmerism.
There are many Boxing fans around the world.
Each one has a hero he admires. At each bout
their boxing heroes fight, they're always there to cheer them
on -- whether in front of the television sets or at
ringsides. The lovers of this sport make it a point to witness the
fights of the boxers they've looked up to since then.
Perhaps one
reason why the boxing has continued to draw fans is that there are no
boundaries to the sport. Any nation can have their hero to cheer
on. And with these, the fan base of the sport is worldwide.
Whenever an individual decides to learn how to protect themselves
and learn self defense, martial arts come to
mind. Martial Arts practiced all over the world and
have been around for many centuries, although they really became
famous around the time of Bruce Lee.
Bruce invented the style of Jeet Kune Do, which
involves very fast strikes with amazing counter defenses. Once people
began to see how fast Bruce Lee could move, they became interested
in martial arts and explored how it could benefit them. Martial
arts are broken down into specific styles. The style all depends on where
and what you study.
A lot of cultures and countries offer martial arts they originated,
developed, and perfected. Brazil offers Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, Japan
has Karate, Thailand has Muay Thai, France has Savate, and China has
Shaolin. Keep in mind that each style uses various
techniques.
Wrestling dates back many centuries to
the Greeks who began brawling at the ancient Olympics sporting
arenas in 708 BCE. Wrestling has now become an extremely
popular sporting event on TV as well as in live
arenas. Wrestling was considered a type of bodily weapon,
but the purpose now is to use the body sufficiently without
causing harm to the opponent by pinning him/her to the mat. Wrestling's
had its ups and downs throughout the history. The moves in those days
were less extreme, however today many moves are used in the ring.
Some of the moves include the quarter and 3/4 Nelson, 450 Splash,
Abdominal stretch, Amityville Horror, Arm locks, airplane spins, back body
drop, back roll, Asian Spike, arm bar, bell clap, big foot, and so on.
Other moves today include the bionic elbow, biting, back suplex,
avalanche, arm wringer, back fist, bear hug, backbreaker, belly-to back
suplex, back rake, baseball slide, and so on. |
