Bungee Jumping Stunts in Movies Often Copied by the Public

The general population, especially younger people, are greatly influenced by what they see on the movie screen; and they want to emulate their favorite stars. Young people want to take part in the same activities celebrities take part in.
And bungee jumping is no exception!
On the other hand, what is presented in the media often mirrors the behaviors and the lifestyles of the American public. For better or for worse, a big part of American entertainment is based on mimicking their audiences. If it's popular amongst "regular folks," presenting it on the movie screen tends to make it even more popular.
Bungee Jumping Popular in Movies
One well-known movie stunt showed James Bond jumping over the edge of a dam in "GoldenEye." Bond's bungee jump stunt was for real, not merely a movie effect.
Bungee jumping has become an interesting stunt in modern movies. We see the evidence in the growing number of bungee jumping companies offering special training for movie makers planning similar stunts in films.
In Hollywood some actors have always specialized in movie stunts generally. But with more actors doing bungee jumping stunts, we can see how popular this sport has become.
The James Bond character, with stunt-double Wayne Michaels, may have performed one of the most popular bungee jump stunts, but it's far from being unique. Even though voted as the best stunt ever filmed, it didn't prevent others from attempting the same feat. Perhaps it even encouraged others to want to meet Wayne Michaels, or even outdo what he did.
Bungee America, which offers great bungee jumping experiences for new and veteran jumpers alike, is Hollywood's number one bungee stunt company. Since 1996, they have helped with bungee jump stunts for at least forty-five Hollywood films.
Schwarzenegger Does Own Stunt
The first one starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie "Eraser", filmed in February, 1996. One scene involved Schwarzenegger's character falling sixty-five feet and doing a back-flip.
Schwarzenegger didn't use a double; the actor performed the stunt himself. This was impressive, and surely a positive influence on fans, because most stars use doubles for such dangerous stunts. As a result, his many fans undoubtedly have an even deeper respect for the actor.
Bungee jumping is clearly a sport that's here to stay, and its appeal in the media proves it. The more that Hollywood presents it as stunts in films the more the general public will want to take part.
The wider the public interest and involvement in bungee jumping, the more commonplace it will continue to be on the movie screen - for daily life mirrors the media, and the media mirrors daily life.
