Good Offence, Strong Defence: Winning Strategy in Paintball Battles

from: Maxx Sports Guides

Paintball team members must use good defensive tactics to protect themselves and their flags from their opponents' aggressive attacks.

In some instances a team may be more cautious in protecting their flag. The team may be tentative by failing to attack the opposition aggressively.

This may become a problem if the other team advances closer to the base. A good defensive stand may be just enough to keep them from losing the game.

Following are some strategic defence systems that a team can apply to win in a paintball game:

Conceal Yourself: A person must cover himself safely from attackers firing paintballs from every direction. A person also must be good in concealing himself from possible close range attackers.

The Element of Surprise: The best attack is to catch your opponent by surprise. An opposing attacker may think that he's firing on anything that would threaten his possible elimination.

Avoid Mass Eliminations: A team leader should assign a different position to each member. Avoid grouping them in the same position, since that could result in several or more members being eliminated at the same time. Opponents could attack members in a single round of fire without any effort. That would be an easy way for the opposition to win the game.

Watch Your Buddy's Back: An individual player must make an effort to be a backup for his team mates. Team members must be within sight at all times, so they can ask for a counter attack if they're surprised with a firefight.

Control Your Firepower: Concentrate on a specific target, with no wasted effort. Unless a team mate asks for cover from his position, it isn't advisable to be firing at a "sure" target.

Good Offence, Strong Defence: In this sport, a good offensive attack is supported by a strong defensive tactic. When a person aims and hits a target, it actually means that he's playing defensively; he's aware of the positioning and movements of his opponents. When he hits and eliminates a target he will advance to the next flank for more possible targets.

This is a good method for the team to win the game by using a good defence system and a strategic offensive attack.
