Spare fishing lines are always an important piece of a fly fisherman's tackle. Complications, such as tangled or broken wire, can completely shut down a day of fishing if you don't have a replacement line. A spool of fishing line is relatively inexpensive, and can be a lifesaver. Having an extra fishing line is a must in your tackle box.
An advanced fly fisherman's tackle is certain to contain many different kinds of lures, one for every type of game he's after. Flies can be crafted from hand or bought at your local bait store, either way, it's important to know what fish you're trying to land, and what fly will best attract it.
Starting with these items, you can build up your collection of flies to have one or more for any given type of game. Collecting these can be fun in itself, and a large collection is certainly worthwhile. Having the right fly for the right fish is an important decision, and is an important thing to remember when you begin to purchase your fly fishing tackle.
