Safety Precautions When Hunting
Hunting is a very popular sport that's evolved from a means
to provide food into one of the most complex and dangerous recreational
activities. Hunting is no joke! Many people have been injured or killed
when participating in hunting activities.
Most of these injuries and deaths were the result of an
accident. No sane hunter would ever deliberately shoot his companion or
himself while hunting, which is why safety precautions must be taken by
all hunters.
Here are some tips on how to properly engage and prepare for hunting:
Equipment

the main characteristics of hunting is that it involves many types of
weapons. A hunter can choose his kind and brand of weapon, however, this
freedom should include the required responsibility of taking care of the
weapon since they can cause injury and even death.
Is
the equipment right for the job?
Different animals can be hunted along with different types
of weapons that can be used for the kill. However, not all guns can be
used to kill different kinds of animals. A hunter must bring only the
weapons necessary to kill the intended prey. This isn't a war -- no one
should take heavy weapons on a hunting expedition.
Courses
A novice hunter needs to attend a required hunting school before going out on a hunt. It's also wise not to wait until the hunting season almost upon you because learning how to hunt properly takes time to learn.
Hunting courses will include gun safety throughout their lessons. They'll also teach students the proper care and handling of weapons.
Hunters aren't the only ones who would benefit from these
classes; people who live in hunting areas will 
also benefit.
Safety
A basic, yet critically important safety rule is that hunters must treat their gun as if it's loaded at all times. Everyone has heard stories of people being killed because they mistakenly thought the gun wasn't loaded. Hunters are only humans, and people commit mistakes and forget things, but forgetting that a bullet was put inside a rifle could claim a life.
A gun should always be pointed away from yourself and other people. If the gun suddenly goes off, it must be pointed toward an empty space where no one could possibly be hurt.
A hunter must also ask himself if he's targeting the right object. Many people have been injured because they were mistaken for animals and/or prey.

he's ready to aim and shoot the prey. Accidental shots occur too often in
real life and these mistakes can cost someone's life.
Clothing
The clothing a hunter wears when hunting is another important consideration since wearing proper clothing will prevent injury, especially when bow hunting. The right type of clothing will also protect a hunter from other hunters. Wearing brightly colored clothing, such as neon orange, which is recommended, usually makes the hunter easily identifiable to other hunters.
There are a lot of hunters out hunting in many areas, especially during the peak season, thus the danger of accidentally being shot by another hunter is very real at any time during these seasons.
Ask permission
Always ask permission from the owners of the land where you intend to hunt before hunting. This ensures you aren't trespassing in areas where you aren't allowed to go. Talk with the owner of the land can also provide important details regarding the land and the activities that occur on it.
Let others know
When hunting alone, hunters should always inform others, especially their loved ones, of the location which provides their loved ones an idea where to look if the hunter shouls go missing.
