For most huntsmen and outdoor enthusiasts, big game hunting isn't just a way to pass the time. Only a strong passion could prompt anyone to rise in the early predawn hours during the coldest time of year, to go sit out in a field with no promise of even getting to shoot.

For the true sportsman, the thrill of the hunt is more than enough. Just getting to catch a glimpse of big game animals in the wild can be a satisfying reward. Of course, there's nothing better than bagging that trophy mule deer along the way, too. As long as there's a good story to tell at the end of the day, a hunting trip can be considered successful.
