The Way to Develop Six-Pack Abs

If you're a bodybuilder, it's best not to focus exclusively on this area or any other group of muscles, but to train for your whole body. However, there are a few techniques you need to know, plus some myths you need to ignore if you really want develop your abs so you get the results you want.
Your abdominal muscles are really no different than any other group of muscles in your body. Training to define your abs takes hard work and intensity. People who are mainly concerned about staying healthy while preventing love handles may find doing crunches every day gets the job done. However, though this abdominal exercise helps keep off the weight, it doesn't do anyhing to define your muscles. Rather, you'll need to include a workout that increases in intensity and gives you the body you're looking for.
So, rather than just doing crunches, try to intensify your workout by doing crunches on an incline. Do as many as you can, and every day try to do a few more than the day before. What's even more beneficial is to do regular or incline crunches using weights. Weight training really helps define your abdominal muscles, providing you with that six-pack most people can only dream about. The combination of weights, plus a healthy diet, will also keep off the fat, allowing your muscles to become even more defined, even when you aren't flexing.
Those ab machines you've probably seen on TV commercials usually don't provide a good weight workout because there isn't enough resistance to intensify your workout each week. These machines are fine for beginners or those with serious weight problems who would like to tone down, but in general, true bodybuilders need not waste their money on these machines.
You can use a pulley machine to lift as you do crunches. Make sure you raise the stack of weights 1 - 2 inches and load it with enough weight so you can only do about ten repetitions. Then, each day, intensify your workout by adding around 5% more weight to the stack.
If you discover you can't accomplish this, it's an indication you need to take more time off between workouts to let your muscles rebuild from your last workout. Overall, this training, in addition to a healthy lifestyle, will help you develop your six-pack abs.
